Gabrielle Bradley

Park ranger and former Girl Scout, Gabrielle Bradley, works at Mike Roess Gold Head Branch State Park in Keystone Heights, Florida.

What inspired you to work in the parks and recreation field?

I love the outdoors and animals and I want to do my part in protecting our natural resources and become a bigger part of the conservation effort to protect our native lands.

Describe your job in the Florida Park Service. What are the favorite parts of your job?

It is hard to put what we do into one little box. We do a lot from customer service to conservation work. I love being able to inspire people to get outside and learn more about nature. Prescribed fire is a cool perk, too.

How did your participation in Girl Scouts prepare you for your career?

My love of nature was fostered from a young age. Being a Girl Scout helped further that passion. Girl Scouts helped me to learn the importance of community and leadership.

What advice would you offer to young women who want to pursue a career in parks and recreation?

With hard work and determination, you can achieve anything you set your mind to! Be passionate about what you do and you will find joy in the simplest things. Set goals and be okay with adjusting to changes that may come your way.
