Learn What it Takes to be a Lifeguard
5-day camp for ages 8–14 - $350
Junior Lifeguard Camp is a great learning experience for kids. It gives them the opportunity to learn important lifesaving skills as well as what it takes to be a lifeguard. During this week-long day camp, your child will experience the daily duties and responsibilities of a certified lifeguard and receive training in basic water rescues, advanced escape techniques, CPR, AED and first aid. Campers will also enjoy activities that build on their public relations and leadership abilities.
We teach our campers everything we teach our lifeguards at Weeki Wachee Springs so they learn professionalism, how to deal with real-life situations, teamwork, team building, and how to be a responsible adult in the future.
Participants will be taught in small groups by certified instructors working closely with the campers to ensure the best learning experience.
The last day of the camp is Graduation Day. The campers get to show their parents and family members what they learned during their time at Junior Lifeguard Camp.
Your child will receive a:
- Whistle
- Lanyard
- Visor
- An official Junior Lifeguard t-shirt
- And a certificate of completion.
If you are interested in ordering a Junior Lifeguard swimsuit, please notify us when you submit your application. The price is $25 and the suit can be worn during the camp and for the duration of the season.

How to Sign Up for Camp
Visit the Friends of Weeki Wachee Springs State Park for dates and to register online. Only online registration for this camp. Phone calls are not accepted. Due to high demand, no refunds will be offered. There will also be no carry over to the following year.
