Anne Pierce

Volunteer of the Year Award for Administration

Anne Pierce has a long and impressive history with Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings Historic State Park. She became a member of the Friends of the Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings Farm Inc. in 1998 and was nominated to the board in 2000. She has held various positions and worked on numerous projects during her 20-plus years as a park volunteer. Anne has held her current position of treasurer since 2004. She also serves as membership chair and has contributed over 1,760 hours of volunteer service.

In 1999, soon after becoming a board member, Anne began developing two databases – the first to document collections and the second as a task schedule. In 2004, Anne started to research and fund the conservation of over 30 artworks, framed photographs and mirrors displayed in the historic farmhouse. During the 75th anniversary of Cross Creek/Cross Creek Cookery in 2017, Anne was involved in 41 events, both on-site and off. She served as one of the event planners, speakers and treasurer.

Throughout 2017 and 2018, Anne worked closely with documentarian Sonya Doctorian to fund, through a Florida Humanities Council Grant, a 40-minute documentary titled "Here is Home: Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings and Cross Creek." The Friends group received a 2018 long-term special project award for the project. During 2020, Anne began selling DVDs and merchandise through the mail.

Anne is a first-class collaborator, go-getter and a tireless supporter of the Friends of Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings Farm and the park.
