Testimonials for Bahia Honda State Park
- "Come July of 2004 my family will be revisiting Bahia Honda State Park. Our last visit was August 1996 and it has beckoned me to return ever since. This park has the "pull" of old Florida. It is a step back in time with modern conveniences. I can hardly wait!!!! When I was 2 months old I visited my father who was stationed at Boca Cheeca Naval Air Station. I got sand in my shoes and I have never gotten it out, thank God!!!"

Steven Lopez - , - "This past weekend our pack 533 camped in Bahia Honda State Park. This was one of the best camp outs we have had. The Park Rangers greeting us were friendly and full of information. We planned our camp to celebrate Earth Day. Our focus on our boys is to preserve our natural resources. The activities for Earth Day were great. We believe our boys walked away knowning a little more of everything. We would like to thank the Park Rangers and the frienly volunteers for giving the boys a great weekend at Bahia Honda."

Elena Nieves - Miami, FL - "A handful of friends and I decided to camp out during the one cold snap that graced our Florida hliday season, so during the week preceeding Christmas, we all went down to Bahia Honda. We were really impressed with the proximity of the waterfront sites to the beach, and with the beaches themselves. None of us had ever seen so much sea life outside of an aquarium, and spent most of the day exploring the beach, peeking into tidepools, trying not to step on the scads of sea urchins, and making sure the live conches got back into the water. We were awed and amazed by being so close to nature, and are already planning to come back the same time this year."

Alisha VanHoose - Plantation, FL - "My family camped in Bahia Honda Last week and it was one of the greatest experience we shared as a family. We picked site #15 which I think is the best because of the back drop view of the ocean. The beach was un-spoiled and the snorkeling was great. In fact it was my six year old’s first time snorkeling. We can’t wait to go back."

- Miramar, FL - "Bahia Honda is the most beautiful park I have seen in Florida. You will find beauty in the Florida Keys that you won’t find anywhere else in the state, and Bahia Honda State Park is about the most pristine place to see what the Florida Keys has to offer. Until you visit the Florida Keys, you’ve missed out on a huge part of the beauty of Florida."

- Orlando, FL - Bahia park is the perfect place for us.We have a 26' boat and like to stay on it but not anchored in the open water. There cove is very protected from wind, and the acomidations for boats is great, easily acessable to gulf or atlantic. The ramp is terrific. Not to forget the awsome fish we caught. And the hospitality of everyone was great. The park store had everything we needed. And the park itself is beutiful. We went for the first time in April of this year,(2005)and stayed 3 wonderful nights, and defently are going back.
Sandra Guimond - Lakeland, Florida - Everytime I come to the Keys I always visit your park. The water is beautiful, the sand is soothing, the ambiance is amazing and the overall feel of peace and tranquility I leave with is overwhelming and calming. I have days where I want to just jummp in my car and drive just to sit on your beach for hours and take in the feel of the Keys and then drive home. It would all be worth the 5 hour drive. People think I'm crazy! I am planning on coming back here in a couple months and I am counting the days. See ya soon. Cant wait!!
Cinda Rose - Port St Lucie, FL - We visited your park in early April 2007 and were really impressed. I have not seen such a beautiful beach anywhere in Florida. We were awed by the amount of wildlife we saw. We walked the nature trail and felt like we were in a rain forrest in the Carribean, not in Florida. We can't wait to come back and hope to stay in one of the cabins.
Donna Chaplinski - SELBYVILLE, DE - By far the nicest park in all of the Florida Keys. We camped here for 10 days in the summer of 2007 and enjoyed all this park hasd to offer.
We have camped at 3 out of the 4 parks in the Keys ( not Pennekamp) and BH is out favorite by far.
Rich O - Pompano Beach, Florida - My family and I stumbled upon Bahia Honda on our first vacation to the keys in '06. We were disappointed, but not suprised to learn to make your reservations to camp here at least one year in advanced. That is exactly what we did the minute we entered our home. The beach in '07 was just as beautiful as the year before. We make it our annual vacation spot now. This is our only our 3rd year, and my kids beg to go back all year long. Snorkling is great, beaches are never crowded, staff is most helpful, and did I mention the beaches are nothing to compare to. Mexio, Bahamas, look out. We found Bahia Honda, private, relaxing, and unspoiled. We love it! sorry mickey mouse we won't be seeing you for a long time!
Bobbie Town - Hillsdale, Michigan - My family and I have been visiting Bahia Honda for years. Our favorite part of our yearly visit is our time camping at Bahia Honda. All areas of the park are uniquely different, however all
extremely beautiful. The park is one of the most beautiful places we have ever visited. We love long walks beach combing. The water is crystal clear with an abundance of sea life. The snorkling and fishing are fantastic. The entire park has this overwhelming sence of peace and tranquility. After a few days camping at Bahia Honda my family and I feel rested and relaxed. The park also has an amazing staff. Many have been there for at least the last 15 years since my family and I began visiting the park. You will absolutely love Bahia Honda!
Tammy J - Northern Virginia, Virginia - We have been here for four years in a row. each time it seemed a little better and we found something new.The Sandspur campsites are the best. See you in May.
Skip and Sylvia Heisser - edgewater, fl. - The park is beautiful. The campsites are clean. But if you're using a tent beware - the ground is solid. You'll need metal pegs and a lot of force to secure your tent.
Jo S - , - Bahia Honda is easily one of the most beautiful places our family has ever camped. The snorkling is great right off the beach, and the view from the top of the old bridge at sunset is not to be missed. The campground is clean, and quiet, and the staff is helpful and very friendly. We have returned 4 out of the past 6 years and can't wait to get back.
Donald Hardee - Savannah, Georgia - Bahia Honda is amazing! It is really one of the most beautiful places in the U.S. There is so much to do right there in the park, yet there are plenty of places to find your own quiet place on the beach. Can't wait to go back!!
Julie Fallucca - Boca Raton, FL - I had heard friends talk about how great the park was, so I finally got a chance to visit for a couple days this month (June 2009). It was a beautiful place with a lot of great activities (snorkeling, kayaking, etc.). My only disappointment was the bathrooms/showers. They were not well maintained like most other Florida State Parks (no hooks, benches, or shelves to put your clothes and toiletries, and usually no paper towels). Everything else was great.
Howard Johnson - Lakeland, FL - My parents camp at Bahia Honda Park a couple times a year and they have been for quite a few years now. Me, my 9 month old son, and my sister had the chance to tag along for a week this past June. I have grown up in central Florida so I am familiar with the beach. Nothing prepared me for how beautiful Bahia Honda was. I felt like I was in a different country. We were there for 5 days and never had to leave the park, with the exception of the grocery store. There is so much to do and even more to see right inside the park. During low tide on the Atlantic side you could take a long walk in crystal clear calf deep water and see all kinds of sea life. The sunsets in Bahia Honda were absolutely breathtaking especially if you walk up the old bridge. On top of the bridge you have such an amazing view of the Atlantic, the Bay and the park. The park itself is very well maintained and the staff treats everyone like they are your friends. This was my first trip to the Keys since I was a child but I don't think I would ever stay anywhere else but Bahia Honda. I can not wait to go back!!!!
