Testimonials for Ichetucknee Springs State Park
- In the summer of '05 I drove my parents and sister who were visiting from PA and NY over to Ichetucknee Springs. Although it was a long drive it was definately worth while. The waters were cold enough to ease off the hot summer weather. We all loved it! This year I plan on taking my husband whom just returned from Iraq. I have described how beautiful it is and shown pictures to him but I know nothing compares to actually being there. I am planning on staying longer in order to enjoy more of what the park has to offer. Thank you for a memorable day!
Sincerely,
Maricela Balbuena
Maricela Balbuena - Hinesville, GA - I grew up in Jacksonville and for many years my family would take trips to Ichtucknee without me because everyone would tell me how cold it was(especially the mean boy cousins) and that there were snakes everywhere. How stupid did I feel when I finally went and loved the cold water and even the hundreds of snakes(only one or two coiled up on a stump here and there)!!!By this time I was 17 and felt that I had been cheated out of a birth right. Well to say the least I am making up for lost time. On our way back from visiting my family in Jacksonville and St. Augustine, me and my husband stop by Ichetucknee and really enjoy ourselves. In the last six years since my "revelation", I've gone on average 3 to 4 times a summer and twice in the winter. I love the beach, but Ichetucknee has so much more to offer. Besides the breathtaking views, it is also a calming experience that can be enjoyed year round. Tip: Try not to get behind a church youth group and try to come on weekdays when there is alot less traffic. Enjoy!!
Bethany Roca - Atlanta, ga - Of all the beautiful parks in our state, Ichetucknee is one of the best. My friends and I have always made a day trip out of going to the Springs a couple times each summer since we've been licensed to drive ourselves. Ichetucknee offers simple enjoyment away from the sand and seagulls of the coast. Try mid-point twice with lunch in between for the most relaxing time at the Springs.
Tiffany Morley - Tallahassee, FL - We attended the first ever Fall Festival Oct 27 and 28 2006, at Ichetucknee State Park and it was great! From the activities for the smaller kids at the South Entrance to the Haunted Tram Ride thru the Park to the Haunted Pirate Village, it was lots of fun. The tale of the River Pirates was very enchanting with one guest asking me if it was in fact a true story, thats how well it was done! The community really turned out in force and there was plenty of fun for everyone. Thanks to the Park Employess, the Community sponsors and all those who voluntered to help scare everyone, yall did great! We hope that this will be a yearly event and can hardly wait 'till next year!!!
James Richardson - Lake City, FL - Growing up and living in North East Florida, I feel that it is a great privilege to live near such a beautiful site. As one who loves the springs found in Florida, this is probably my favorite site. For me, I feel close to God in beautiful nature areas like the Ichetucknee. Last summer we came over quite a few times with our Emmaus Catholic Young Adult Group, and we are planning on coming again this year. Come on 90 degree temperatures!
Paul Sulzbacher - Jacksonville, FL - I first saw the park in 1989. Since then when I travel to Florida Ichetucknee Springs State Park is a must. I have brought my family as well as friends and NEVER had a disappointing day or comment. Going down the springs is a must and make sure you have under water goggles for better viewing. It truly is breath taking. It does not matter what time of year it is, I am going to Ichetucknee Springs State Park as soon as I get in this area. I wont miss it and you shouldn't either. If you tube the springs try to miss the fallen trees or you will bruise your bum.

Ernie Paulson - Rockford, Illinois - I have lived within 1/2 hr of Itchetucknee all my life and have been going to the park ever since I can remember. Spending a day in the park is always a great time, but tubing the river is really something you have to experience for yourself in order to see just how great it is. Every trip down the river is different. You'll see different wildlife and plant life every time. It's totally relaxing to go during the week when it's not so crowded, but it's also a blast on weekends in July when it's busier...you'll make new friends as you float with people from all over the place, and you'll laugh yourself silly watching the kids have fun (and joining in yourself). I feel extremely lucky to have such a beautiful place in my backyard. (and you can't beat the bang for the buck!)
Tammy Mullis - Fort White, FL - In the summer of 92 we were visiting my Aunt and Uncle in Cedar Key, there was nothing there to do other than fishing. We aren't the fishing kind so we were looking for things to do when we come across Ichetucknee Springs. We decided that we were going there the next day. We all piled up in the car and headed to the Springs. It seemed like it took us all day to get there, but it was well worth it. Everything was beautiful and the water was very very cold (but refreshing) I have a family of my own now and I will be visiting one day to share the experiance with my family. It is a beautiful and wonderful trip..
Heather Morris - Hueytown, AL - Last year I got a group of my family and friends and for my B-day, we went to the park, and floated down the river!! My family has lived in Florida since the early 70's and had never done this. Everyone had a great time and plan on going again this year with additional people!!
Linda Murphy - Jacksonville, FL - I visited Ichetucknee a couple of weeks ago (July 09) and had a great time! The water was beautiful and the scenery was gorgeous. The kids had a great time.
One of Florida's gems. Definitely go during a weekday if you can-- you will "own" the river!
Lisa Linnane - Orange Park, FL - Thanks to the volunteer at Lafayette Blue Springs State Park encouraging us to take a 30 minute ride to Ichetucknee River and Springs! We had a wonderful time tubing the crystal clear river and snorkeling in the beautiful Springs! We loved our vacation to Florida Springs!!
Jeffrey Abadie - Paulina, LA - I am from England and have lived in Jax for 19 years. I cannot believe I waited so long to visit the springs. We took our two kids and they had so much fun with the snorkeling and just everything! They enjoyed the whole tube thing. It's so easy to keep the kids happy in Ichetucknee. Don't wait. I would recommend it to any family itching to have a good time.
