Testimonials for Rock Springs Run State Reserve
- My husband and I arrived to hike on foot, but took a look at the horse stables where one can take a guided tour on horseback. Back at the trailhead, we parked our car and followed the blazed trail through open palmetto fields and sand pine. The season was dry; all of the area's ephemeral wetlands were dry, its stream beds empty, yet, the trail still was lovely and serene. The tracks of the park's inhabitants criss crossed the sandy paths, tho' the only wild life we saw so late on that warm day were a few insects, hawks circling overhead, and a few small birds. The visible tracks included deer, turkey, rabbit and raccoon. From the woods beside the trail, we heard the echoing calls of an owl. The trails are well marked, but you have to stay alert, which is part of the fun, as the trail might suddenly jump off a wide sand tract into a field of sage, becoming a mere footpath, leading into stands of pine and cedar. This is a long hike, so don't forget your water. WW
Wendy Wilson - Orange City, Florida - This is the absolute best place to come for swimming and tubing in central florida.
Donny Anders - Casselberry, FL - I absolutely LOVE this place. My family and I can't get enough of it. We usually go in the summer when the weather is extremely hot. It's a great place to cool off and enjoy nature to the limit!
